Beginning to complete application part 2

here is the initial version of our application:   ApplForm_V0_FI    =  version 0.

I have completed the 2.6 aim and began the 2.7 expected results .

I kept the appellation "BIO LIFE" to name the project, but that will change depending on the results of our surve ( don't forget to vote, please !)
Who should complete next parts ????

We have almost  12 times 1500 characters to write in our application form, before beginning to work on time tables and budget.
May  I suggest that we  divide the work among all of us ?

Objectives of CREATOR program

OBJECTIVES of CREATOR ( Application Guide p.2)

A project idea is required to relate to the programme’s objective about economic development opportunities related to the ageing societies.

Creative regional policies addressing economic development opportunities related to ageing
societies. "CREATOR will focus on at maintaining / further enhancing the competitiveness of
the regional economies and at ensuring the regions long-term social cohesion, mainly through
exploring further the specific challenges resulting from a further ageing of the regional
populations and through pro-actively addressing distinct economic development opportunities
that emerge from new needs of an increasingly ageing population”.

A project idea also has to relate to at least one of two sub-objectives:

1. Adaptation and further diversification of the regional level care and well beingsector, focused on human resources.

To exchange regional-level experiences & to establish a joint in-depth work processes on an

“Adaptation and further diversification of the regional-level care/well-being sector to meet
the needs of an increasingly ageing population living in rural and/or sparsely populated
areas”, leading to a design of targeted policy strategies / support tools that help establishing a
more adequate proximity care service provision structure in the future.

2. Development of innovative and technology-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises,
specific products and services, focused on economic and technical oriented resources

To exchange regional-level experiences & to establish a joint in-depth work processes on
“Innovative/technology-intensive SMEs developing specific products / services meeting the
needs of an increasingly ageing population”, leading to a design of targeted policy strategies /
support tools that help stimulating a closer interaction between existing regional innovative
systems and companies active on this particular market segment

Here are my comments (in red)  on Paula's last note

"In my opinion, we should start filling up the CREATOR proposal template as soon as possible. But before that, we should clarify which is the objective of our proposal and the role of each of us, because I think is still not so clear (at least not for me) and because we are organizations with different natures and profiles in each region.
As far as I understood, our  project will  tackle some of the challenges identified in relation to the particular needs of the elderly people regarding food and it will  aim at improving the efficiency of the innovation process looking for new formulas to bring knowledge to the food industry in order to develop new products/services/ companies that meet the needs of an increasingly ageing population. In this sense, the final target will be food-related  companies and entrepreneurs ?.Yes, but also the BSO ( business support aorganizations) which have to  assist and support those targets.
Regarding PRODINTEC´s role our main contribution in WP3 could be to develop guidelines of best practices  in Europe absolutely  and new opportunities detected regarding food packaging covering the needs of the elderly and the implementation of "design for all" methodologies in product design (transferring these tools ?) .  We can also do similar things regarding Eco-design, but, now I don´t see the direct connection of this methodology with food and ageing people Yes, I think that due to the fact that we have chosen to to target a smaller domain ( food domain versus general business domains), the ecodesign concern is not anymore valid…
I guess we are the only partner working on that, so there won´t be an internal exchange of experiences with other partners. Am I right?  Other areas could be nutrition for the elderly? but we only have one partner working on that as well? Here in Lorraine we are working on that too !!
I think that the best way is that the lead partcipants (Florence and Francois) start preparing the common template to be shared and defining the project => we are working here on this as you are proposing with the information of the partners, identifying possible roles and concrete areas to be analized. Then, the rest of the partners can give feed back, possible outputs, taks  and new ideas, and finally elaborate the budget. OK here in Lorraine

Dear all,

In my opinion, we should start filling up the CREATOR proposal template as soon as possible. But before that, we should clarify which is the objective of our proposal and the role of each of us, because I think is still not so clear (at least not for me) and because we are organizations with different natures and profiles in each region.

Dear partners, thank you very much for your contributions.

I agree with Paula that our main challenge now is to concrete and clarify:

- the fields or concrete technologies to be analized&exchange of experiences
- the role of each of us in each WP. I think that technological or non-technological profile of the partner will make the difference.

We were asked to propose acronym for our project in 2010-06- 17 note , but no one proposed anthng new....

Application meeting in mid september 2010 ??

Dear friends

Yes it seems that we are OK on the 4 WP !

We have 7 weeks now to work on project items and budget.

We have discussed with some of us about having a consortium meeting in the middle of september...

It should help in order

• to meet eachother - some of us did not attend Metz June meeting
• to fill and sign the mandatory application forms

I have been looking for an "easy to reach " low cost  destination...

It seems that Budapest is a good place allowing to fly there from our regions for 1 or 2 days at cheep budget!
Anyway, you have to know that there is a 7.000 € budget allowed by CREATOR to prepare application (on the same 75 or 85% ERDF funding)

We will verify that this is OK for CREATOR comitee!

=> May I propose, as a first idea, having this meeting on tuesday 14/09/2010 in the evening and fly back on thursday 16/09/2010 => That would allow  to have full wednesday and part of thursday to work together

Please feel free to propose alternate solution ?

Dear Creator partners,

As regard to your notes and comments, it seems that everybody agree with the 4 WP proposed by François and I and improved by Paula and Ase.

We can now consider this WP validated?

I encourage every partner to define details of tasks and budget inside each WP.

We will compile all your contributions with François during summer.
