Regarding Paula's previous note

I think that you are right even if the 8 WP are perhaps not as heavy as you think.

WP2 = Networking is a "small" WP in term of workload but a large one because it is all the tasks we gonna have to do in creating a network at first between us and then eventualy between our backoffice local network.

For example, I guess that it should be interesting to connect Païvi and Agneta/Ase with a excellent agro food engineer school here in Lorraine called = ENSAIA

My "slicing method in a lot of WP"  aims to help us to prepare and detail the primary tasks which are building each WP.

So I agree with your proposal:

Transferring WP7 can be included in a more general and transversal WP.
So we should have

• WP0: Management,
• several specific WPs and the
• last WP can be called WPn Knowledge management. There, we can include the following tasks:

-Scientific and industrial advice (this will include advice from both academia and industry regarding teh current situation, may be it overlaps a little bit with teh state of the art of Wp1)
-Dissemination activities (publications, conferences, web page....)
-Transferring (the knowledge adquired during the project to industry, possible entrepreneurs, society

Dear Francois,

Thank you very much for this info. I agree with teh target population and entities, and the pre-requisites.

Regarding WP, I think that 9 WP for a project of 2 yeras are maybe too many. In my opinion WP7: transferring can be included in a more general and transversal WP.
In this sense, we can have WP0: Management, several specific WPs and the last WP can be called WPn Knowledge management. There, we can include the following tasks:

-Scientific and industrial advice (this will include advice from both academia and industry regarding teh current situation, may be it overlaps a little bit with teh state of the art of Wp1)
-Dissemination activities (publications, conferences, web page....)
-Transferring (the knowledge adquired during the project to industry, possible entrepreneurs, society...)

Of course, it is only a suggestion.

Welcome AGRIA LORRAINE

We are glad to welcome AGRIA  as a strategic Lorraine partner  in our consortium.

AGRIA, located in Nancy - Lorraine,  is an innovation and technology transfer center dedicated to food industries.

We will ask AGRIA's Florence Brehelin and Jean-Michel Barbier to introduce themselves.

AGRIA will allow us to have connexions with Nancy University ENSAIA school nad laboratories

PRODINTEC Asturias description & expertise

Fundacion PRODINTEC

PRODINTEC is an industry-driven Technology Centre created to boost the competitiveness of European companies by applying research and development activities to either product designs or manufacturing processes. There are 3 main areas of activities i) Industrial production, ii) product design and iii) R&D Management. PRODINTEC possesses in-house cutting-edge equipment for manufacturing and advance software for design along with high-skilled engineers with experience in different fields of science from electronics to micro-manufacturing.
PRODINTEC is an active member of different European Technology Platforms related to manufacturing such as MANUFUTURE and MINAM. It is also member of the management board of the European Platform for Rapid Manufacturing within the “Regional & National” working group and the NANOfutures Platform within the “networking” working group.
PRODINTEC is in direct contact with companies of the region. In fact, in collaboration with other entities, it has created a  platform called MANUf@CTURIAS. This platform is a  regional initiative of the MANUFUTURE European Technology Platform. Created in Asturias by different entities from both the private and public sphere, it aims to promote the renewal, reactivation and restructuring of traditional industrial sectors via a research and innovation-based strategy. Nowadays, more than 50 industrial and service companies from different sectors are members.
The Foundation  participates in several European research programs as, for instance, sixth and seventh framework programme (FP6 and FP7), EUREKA, IBEROEKA, INTERREG, etc. Moreover, PRODINTEC has key knowledge in technology marketing as well as important business network with potential end-users of project outcomes.

• the project called NORPACK was aimed at fostering the packaging activities of different companies, mainly in the food sector
• "Design for all" examples

Who is BIC Asturias?

The European Business and Innovation Centre of Asturias BIC/CEEI Asturias - was created according to the Business Innovation Centre (BIC) model from the European Commission to encourage the creation and consolidation of innovative business in Asturias.

23 people from interdisciplinary backgrounds constitute the team of BIC Asturias. We are specialized in SERVICES FOR INNOVATIVE AND TECHNOLOGY-BASED COMPANIES, we assists the entrepreneur through all the stages of starting a business, from developing an innovative business idea to their development and acceleration.

• Promoting a business culture
• Comprehensive support in the creation and consolidation of innovative and technology-based companies: Specialist advisors offer assistance using clearly outlined methods to elaborate business plans, training in business management, help searching for partners and business monitoring.
• Facilitating access to financial resources for business projects: subsidies for technology-based companies, micro credits, capital risk measures, business angels etc.,by evaluating and validating business plans.
• As a business incubator
• Participating in specific projects: to generate value-added services for our clients with regional, national or European cooperation.

Our potential role within the project:

Being potentially our role a non-technological one, some initial ideas to explore with you as regards our role and possible inputs to the project from our part would be:

• Design and Testing methodologies, activities to explore new business models and new business opportunities starting from R&D  and innovation findings in the field of nutrition, food for elderly, eco-design, design for all (depending on final selection of ). They have in common their potential to be “technologies” for the creation of adaptation of specific goods for elderly people so arriving to the “transfer” of them to entrepreneurs or existing SMEs could close the circle…As regards concrete activities the outputs could be: guidelines, round tables, workshops, pilot projects…
• In the same way, offer our methodology and experience as advisors of business plans for these companies. We are an entity with more than 15 years of experience and specialized in support the creation and consolidation of innovative companies, especially those of firms of technological base.
• Offer us a a bridge  (in collaboration with Prodintec which is the regional technological centre), to identify and select entrepreneurs and innovative companies to benefit from these findings. Once defined the technologies to apply it will de easy to focus them
