Dear all,
According to Olivier´s mail, I want to inform you about the progresses and activities carried out in this project up to now by CEEI ASTURIAS :
- Regional map: In collaboration with PRODINTEC, we are developing a regional map with the main activities and have chosen the six more important according to our criteria and the indicator of this activity. These activities or industries are the following:
1) dairy,
2) meat,
3) canning,
4) packaging,
5) drinks and
6) bakery/pastry/sweets.
In each of them, we have listed the most relevant agents involved in such as companies, technological and research centres, supporting organizations, etc.
- State of art: We decided to start our state of art providing a description about the elderly population in Asturias regarding basic features of the structure of this type of population, sociodemographic and socioeconomic data, etc. In addition, we are going to describe the situation of the food industry in our region (main activities, importance in the regional economy, evolution,..) trying to establish links between the two parts.
- Besides, we are collecting information about elderly organizations, the most active ones, R&D projects involved in Food or related activities, media and press news, etc in order to find new agents which could give us some interesting information.
Appart from these tasks, we are now launching the public offer for the hiring of the first controller, which is mandatory for us because of the type of organization that we are. As many of you know, this is a complicated and long process but we expect to have it finished as soon as posible.

Just a question regarding the state of art. How extensive do you suggest that it should be??
